How much of the donated money will be used for scholarships?

Our goal is to give away at least 95% of all money donated.  The Committee and Foundation officers have generously given their time and resources to establish the Foundation and the only ongoing expenses that we anticipate are the costs of maintaining this website and routine banking or investment fees.

How are scholarship recipients chosen?

The application is available on this website. Students must print the application and submit it to their counselor at school. The Application Review Committee, which is composed of Samuell alumni, review each application and choose a recipient.  If you would like to serve on the Application Review Committee, please Contact Us.

Are my donations tax deductable?

Yes!  The W. W. Samuell Alumni Scholarship Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization and all gifts are tax deductable.

Are scholarships only given for college?

The Alumni scholarships are intended to support Samuell students as they further their education.  The scholarship selection committee will choose the best candidate(s) each year and will consider supporting students attending community college, four year university, or trade school.  Scholarship funds will only be paid directly to the educational institution.
